Whilst the football was on I went for a ride

Tonight was the England match – which I later found out they lost, so all the football fans will no doubt be out rioting on the streets as the England team fly home.

Me- being the worlds worst football supporter decided to take advantage of the super quiet roads and go out. After riding for what seemed like an age, I ended up near Newark and stopped off at a MacDonalds for coffee and a snack. By this point the match had nearly finished and MacDonalds was dead with more staff than customers. As I sat down enjoying my coffee people started piling in and my phone pinged up to say England had lost in extra time (whatever that means??).

A queue of people were trying to use the automated machines – obviously having a MaccieD to celebrate (or commiserate) only to find that the credit card payment system had gone down. Now it was obvious no one had cash on them as after arguments, complaining and words I can’t put on a public blog, they all gradually left again – except the few sensible people who had that strange old fashioned stuff called “cash”.

I found the whole going on quite entertaining, finished my coffee, zipped up my suit and had a ride home in the dark with a smile on my face.
