Its Hotter Than Spain Was

malaga weatherlouth weather by the bbcA couple of weeks ago I enjoyed a holiday in Spain with temperatures reaching 30 degrees C plus during the day.

I landed back in the UK to cold winds, rain – getting soaked in the early hours of the morning as I waited for the shuttle bus feeling sorry for myself. The landing was interesting too on a waterlogged runway.

Yesterday I was out in my car delivering parcels at last minute notice and the thermometer was showing 36 degrees at one point. It was one day I could have done with my air-conditioning working – I’m still saving for the repair bill as it has never worked since I got the car from a local garage last year, but thats another story. Somehow even though in and out of the car, I’d got “drivers sunburn” on my right shoulder and arm.

Last night I was sat by the pond watching the sun go down in shorts and t-shirt, with the weather still warm wondering if that was our summer and I’d missed out.

Today I wake up to what feels an even hotter day and inbetween hiding indoors to cool down and pottering round the garden, it reminds me a bit of my holiday – birds singing, blue sky, hot sun and the sound of trickling water from my pond fountain. Enjoy…
